Parent-Child
Relationship Fast Repair
Questions
and Answers
How
long does a parent-child relationship repair take?
About
five days with a few telephone follow ups.
What
are the signs that a parent should look for to
determine if a Fast Repair would help them?
Either
the parent, child, or both experience very little
or no agreement on viewpoint, frequent anger,
rage, bitterness, no communication, rejection,
hostility, arguments, mistrust, or uncomfortable
quiet. Also on this list, falls low responsibility,
low self-esteem, succumbing to peer pressure,
lack of parenting skills, lack of attention given
to child, stolen attention from other people or
life concerns, resentment from past upsets or
betrayals, or serious hurt and misunderstandings
that do not resolve.
What
child age ranges do you accept?
If
the child is too young, absent, or unwilling to
participate in the relationship repair, it is
very effective to have the parent do the program
without the child's participation. In such case
the child can accompany the parent to the program
if there is no other option available.
Where
is the Fast Repair done?
If
the parent and child live in the Bakersfield area,
they come daily to Tracy's Bakersfield home. If
they live too far to commute, they stay in Tracy's
home for an intensive five-day program or we find
accommodations for them outside of her home.
Who
is qualified to do the Fast Repair ?
Any
parent who is wanting real solutions and is willing
to do the program steps him or her self to make
the fast changes. This is a med-free program and
Tracy does not accept a parent or child on medication
because meds seem to impede progress. Both parent
and child should not have a substance abuse problem.
However, Tracy can refer parents or their children
with substance abuse problems to effective non-med
programs if requested.
Can
more than one child attend the program with the
parent?
This
is determined by a telephone consultation with
Tracy Sherwood.
Do
you ever require that both parents come?
Parents
are encouraged, but never required to both undergo
the program as it is sometimes not feasible for
both. It is often enough for the parent who is
having the most difficulty with the child relationship
repairs his or her relationship repair, but sometimes
both parents need it. This can be determined to
a large degree in the initial telephone consultation.
What
if the parent who needs the repair most is not
willing to come?
It
depends upon the situation. If the 'willing' parent
and child does the program we often see a change
in the parent who is most in need and unwilling
to come. The parent/child set that does the program
is often able to repair things at home. When this
cannot be fully done, the unwilling parent is
calmed by the change observed and often becomes
willing to do the program alone or with the child,
which completes the repair.
What
if the parent/child relationship problem stems
from stress in the marriage or between parents
in regard to parenting?
This
is not uncommon and is resolved with at least
one parent coming and then the other, or ideally,
both together. If only one can come, the other
will be positively affected by the change in the
first and can at least do a telephone repair to
get the final results.
What
if the child's relationship with the parent or
parents has been harmed by an outside party such
as the child succumbing to negative peer pressure?
If
there is no drug or alcohol abuse in the picture,
the child and parent can do the program together
and get the repair results. If the child is defiant
and will not come, the parent can still achieve
much by coming alone and will usually be able
to get the child to come soon after. But this
may no longer be needed. The child can also do
the telephone repair if over 7 yrs.
What
are the Fast Repair program rates?
This
varies from case to case. The minimum is $6,000
per trip. When staying in Tracy's home, room and
board is included with two private bedrooms and
bath. The program is paid fully in advance and
is guaranteed if all individuals qualify per terms
of guarantee and full participation and dedication
is given to the full length of the program..
Does
it ever take longer than five days to successfully
complete the Fast Repair?
It
has taken up to seven days in the past for qualifying
families, but this percentage is low. Parent and
child should be prepared to stay for seven days
just in case. If both parents come and one must
return early, we would concentrate on that parent
first to ensure he/she completes before going
home.
What
does the telephone follow-up consist of?
It
consists of updating Tracy on how it's going,
plus Tracy will provide tips and ideas on how
to 'handle' the renewed relationship and how to
maintain the closeness. It's important to not
take the renewed relationship for granted and
to know what can cause the relationship to begin
taking steps backwards. This is not 'psychology';
it is fast, effective techniques that work., but
these follow up consultations assist greatly in
this area.
How
long are the consultations?
The
initial telephone consultation takes about twenty
minutes and is no charge or obligation. The second
consultation may take some time and the rate is
$225 per hour. This is paid via paypal before
starting the second consultation. Follow up consultations
take about 30 minutes and occasionally up to an
hour if needed and are included in the five day
program tuition.
What
if it takes seven days to complete the program?
Is the tuition higher? No, it is Tracy's
goal to complete the program in five days and
any necessary extra days are included in tuition.
Seven days is certain.
